The Elephant

There’s something we need to talk about… something rather important.

First and foremost, none of our team was part of the team that developed Breeding Season.

We have had some sites claim that we are an offshoot of the Breeding Season team that stayed together after the split. This is not the case. None of us had any involvement in breeding season past playing it and marvelling at the awful way the project was managed.

We have had many comments and questions already saying some form of, "don't you know what happened with Breeding Season?". Yes, we do. This project was formed in the wake of that project's catastrophic team failure, and we at Code Bunny Studio are working very hard to prevent anything similar from happening here.

First, we have all watched that project since well before its collapse. We have studied what we can of events that led to the crisis, and have determined that one of the best things we can do is to maintain communication channels among the team. We have a discord chatroom for the team, and have been using that extensively to keep everyone up to date on progress, getting feedback on content, and organizing our plans for the future. We are also using both dropbox and github to keep all team members working together. Organized communication and unity keep this project from dissolving into chaos, and we can all give one another a little push when necessary.

Second, we have organized our studio specifically to avoid the control issues that supposedly occurred in the creation of Breeding Season. We have all e-signed contracts to form an equal partnership, leaving open the possibility of sleeping partnership and even requiring partners to leave if the active team feels they are not pulling their weight or have gone AWOL. Although EvilDumDum is technically the project leader, in reality that only means keeping us all moving. There is no one all-important leader without whom the project crashes, and all content copyrights belong to the studio, rather than the partners. If any critical work is not getting done, the studio can find a replacement to do the needed labor.
Finally, we are mindful of our use of Patreon for support. Regular news and behind-the-scenes content for our higher level supporters will help you keep us honest. Patreon support will not enable us to discriminate against our free followers as Breeding Season did: all content will be made available to the public shortly after its release for paid supporters. If you choose not to support production, you will simply need more patience to receive the same content. Regardless, we appreciate any and all support that you can provide. Your support helps us all to clear time in our busy schedules to work on this game, as well as paying for any hardware and software upgrades that we require to give you the kind of quality content we know you want.

In conclusion, we fully appreciate the fear that our project will go down the tubes as fast as Breeding Season did, and we have taken the steps we felt were necessary to avoid that particular failure. We hope that by beginning with an atmosphere of professionalism, we can provide you all with the kind of finished game that Breeding Season tried, and failed, to give. If ever you have concerns with our management of the project, please contact us. If you are unsatisfied with the answer, we encourage you to withdraw your support. We have no intention to deceive you. We appreciate everything you do for us and hope that we can return it in kind.
